eceed imports, but Japan is an exceptional country with a surplus
of imports.
Value of imports of works of art is approximately
117 times as large as that of exports.

In 1990, exports from Japan was apprx US$45,000,000 and imports
to Japan was apprx US$4,200,000,000. This expenditure for buying
foreign works of art was 2.3% of grand total of imports to Japan. |
